Please Be patient...The images are very good quality and may take a while to upload. If you don't want to sit around and wait for them to load, you're perfectly welcome to do something else while you wait, it won't affect the process at all [Though it may slow down your computer a bit...]
For those of you who don't know, deviations are basically files. You know, art. Right then! Let's get started!
First of all, we'll need to get you logged in!
After you've gotten yourself logged in, then it's time to actually start submitting! On the right hand side,
under your username, there should be some links, options, if you will. You want the one called "Submit Deviation".
Congratulations! You are now on the right page to start submitting!
First of all you put in a title. Anything you like, it doesn't matter, but some things, like exclimation marks and slashes are not allowed. Don't worry though, if you do something wrong, the system will tell you when you click the submit button [Which I have a picture of at the end of the tutorial].
After you've put in a name, then it's time to choose the category. You're not allowed to submit anything
without putting it in a category. Don't worry, it's easy! First click on the little "Choose..." button
under "Category"
A window should pop up.
Since I'm uploading a photograph, I want the photography category. My photo is of some trees, so I'll pick
the "Animals, Plants & Nature" category, then it gives me even more options. I'm going to pick "Flowers &
Plants"
Great! Now it's time to "Add a File", meaning your telling DeviantART where to get the file to show to everyone.
Now go to wherever you saved the image [You know, picture, file you want to upload] and press "Open"
Now that the hard part's over and done with, we can move to the fun part. It's time to add your own comments
and tags, which are words which have to do with your deviation. They should be seperated by spaces. You
can put anything you want into "Artist's Comments"
Next is setting comments. You can set it to anything you want. I personally like "Discourage Criticism"
because I like comments, but not negative ones. If you don't want comments, pick "Disable Comments"
Now all that's left to do is press the "Finish" button. Make sure you don't press "Make Print", that's
defenitely not what you want right now [maybe never]
Way to go! You have just submitted a Deviation!
